“Transgender healthcare has always been very close to my heart. ”

Christian Seipp MD PhD

Consultant Urological Surgeon

Following supportive counselling and hormone treatment most transgender women will complete their journey of transition with surgery.

Surgery consolidates transition and often results in benefits such as decreased gender dysphoria. improved mental health, enhanced self-image and self esteem. Greater body comfort results in better quality of life.

We offer individualised care for all patients seeking gender-affirming surgery and transition related medical care.

Transgender healthcare services in North Wales

Responding to increasing inquiries from transgender and non-binary patients both locally, nationally and internationally, I have established transgender healthcare services for patients who are struggling to receive timely and adequate care through overwhelmed national health waiting lists.

Please do not hesitate to arrange either a face-to-face or a virtual consultation either through the SPIRE Yale hospital in Wrexham or the Grosvenor Nuffield Hospital in Chester.

He is member of the European Association of Urologists (EAU), the British Association of urologists (BAUS) and the World Professional Association of Transgender Healthcare (WPATH)

Christian Seipp grew up in Germany where he completed his training as a urological surgeon. Following his studies at the universities of Ulm/Donau and Marburg/Lahn he completed his specialty training as a urologist in Frankfurt/Main in 1997. He spent much of his training with one of Germany’s leading transgender surgeons, Dr. Christiane Spehr.

After a successful career as a consultant urological surgeon in Bremen/Germany, Mr Seipp eventually moved to the UK in 2004.

He joined Betsi Cadwaladr University Healthboard and developed a referral centre for specialist services in female urology, andrology and genito-reconstructive urology in North Wales. Under his guidance the urology department in Wrexham quickly developed into a centre for high-volume reconstructive urological surgery with emphasis on urethral and genital reconstruction, penile prosthesis as well as male and female urinary incontinence surgery.

Having gained extensive experience in reconstructive genital surgery, Mr Seipp has now returned to his roots in providing gender reconstructive surgery. Mr Seipp has always felt passionate about transgender healthcare. MTF transgender bottom surgery allows him to use skills from urethro- and corporoplasties to provide excellent surgical service for patients seeking male-to-to female transgender surgery. He prides himself in delivering individualised and compassionate care with patience and great attention to detail.

His comprehensive urological training in Germany also allows him to provide advice and supervision in the endocrinological treatment of transgender individuals.

Mr Seipp lives with his partner and two Yorkshire terriers in Alderley Park close to Manchester. He enjoys photography and travelling abroad.
