What requirements do I need to meet before by surgery?

Be over the age of 18

Be reasonably healthy in body and mind

Have two letters positively supporting your decision to have gender affirming surgery from mental health professionals familiar with your transition journey

Have been on hormone therapy for a minimum of six months

Have a minimum of 12 months of consistent real life experience in your chosen gender role

Have realistic expectations regarding the results of surgery

Alternatively, you can contact SPIRE Yale hospital in Wrexham on 01978 291306 to arrange an appointment for a virtual or face-to-face consultation.

The initial consultation will allow us to discuss your personal circumstances and your expectations.

Once you are happy that your questions and concerns have been addressed, our customer service team at the hospital will contact you with a quotation for your procedure. This also includes a number of payment options that you may want to explore.

If you decide to go ahead with your surgery, you will speak to our booking team and you can choose a mutually convenient time to have your procedure.

I will arrange additional consultations and possible face-to-face appointments before your surgery if required.

We will make sure that you feel entirely comfortable with every step of the planned treatment before the date of you procedure.
